Phone Call from Army Recruiter
Army Dude (AD): May I speak to Eric please?
Me: Go ahead
AD: Hi, this is ________ from the U.S. Army and I would like to talk to you about getting involved in the military. Are you currently enrolled in college?
Me: Yes
AD: How far along are you?
Me: I'm a freshmen
AD: Oh okay, and how are you paying for college?
Me: With money
AD: Well...the military has many programs designed to help pay for your tuition...Have you ever considered a career in the military?
Me: Yes, but I changed my mind
AD: What changed?
Me: Mostly my philosophy, you see...I don't believe in the military
AD: Why's that?
Me: The military takes away the individuality of human beings, takes away their greatest ability - to think...all in the name of killing other human beings.
AD: Well, there are many opportunities outside of that. You don't have to be deployed, you can work as a computer technician domestically.
Me: How does that change anything? I am still subject to another human's whim and forced to follow his orders. And at the end of the day, the mission of my career is supporting a braiwashed killing machine...during times of war. I suppose during peacetime, the protection is necessary.
AD: Uhhh...well you have a nice day.
He either thinks I'm a hippie or he's quitting. I hope he quits.

Quoth Siddhartha:
“I’ve had thoughts, yes, and insight, again and again. Sometimes, for an hour or for an entire day, I have felt knowledge in me, as one would feel life in one’s heart. There have been many thoughts, but it would be hard for me to convey them to you. Look, my dear Govinda, this is one of my thoughts, which I have found: wisdom cannot be passed on. Wisdom which a wise man tries to...

Remember that movie? I just found out that the technology in that movie is now developed and commercially available. What the fuck. Congress is passing laws against genetic discrimination and all that good shit already too. Our kids are going to be genetically perfect human beings. cool

Albert Einstein's message, listen to the genius
“I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research. All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man’s...

Science is religion
It is the most current explanation of the world around us, but fails to explain the meaning of it. Science is better than religion in that many people have tested the assertions made, whereas religion has many people believing in the assertions of one man. But at the end of the day, our education was shoved down our throats by the government, the church of science. In any religion, even science,...

Tumblr
Someone’s tumblr can really tell you a lot about them. A lot of bloggers like to deny this (especially when confronted with anonymous hate) and say that followers do not know them or who they really are. But that is simply retarded. Whether the blogger pours their heart out in text,  reblogs with OCD consistency, posts flattering pictures of themselves, or lashes out at anonymous asks...
